Position Summary

This is a newly created role working for American Express Global Business Travel (‘GBT’) at an exciting time as the organization seeks to grow its global business, both organically and through acquisition. The Assistant Manager – will work closely with members of the Group Tax Team located in the UK and the USA, primarily assisting with the preparation of data to feed into the various aspects of the tax compliance and reporting cycle around the world.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for running key reports and manipulating/analysing excel data to fulfil tax accounting or compliance requirements.
Co-ordinate with Tax Team/Controllership/hubs/FP&A and other stakeholders to obtain and provide required information.
Assist with general control procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations and payment requests.

Required Qualifications/Key Experience

CA/ACCA with Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience or an experienced accountant with 5+ years.
Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle and/or NetSuite would be preferable)
Previous experience of tax accounting (US GAAP preferable)
Strong excel expertise (eg: match & Vlookup formulaes/pivot tables etc) and the ability to manipulate large volumes of data.

Good understanding of double entry book keeping.
