Job Summary

The role of Tax Senior is to participate in the tax preparation process for individuals (1040), corporations (1120C/1120S), and/or partnerships (1065), as well as other customers to ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations based on their industry preference or specialization. Tasks will include preparing intermediate level returns, reviewing basic tax return engagements, and researching and resolving tax issues. The Tax Senior is responsible for supervising, motivating, and developing our tax associates and interns.

Responsibilities

· Apply tax knowledge to intermediate level of corporate tax returns, flow-through returns and/or all levels of individual returns
· Review basic tax return engagements
· Work effectively in analyzing business transactions
· Perform complete and efficient reviews of individual and/or business tax returns while providing guidance to team members
· Gather data from both internal and external sources
· Perform tax research with view for alternatives to satisfy customer’s objectives
· Resolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagements
· Actively monitor engagement economics by managing budgets and seeking efficiencies
· Direct and control concurrent assignments to successful completion
· Bottom-line management of assigned engagements and individual productivity opportunities, becoming a subject-matter expert in one or more technical aspects
· Teach, develop and oversee associates through engagements, as well as delegate assignments and tasks when applicable
· Provide honest, objective and constructive feedback in timely manner to associates
· Collaborate to identify and sell opportunities among existing customers
· Serve as a mentor and role model through active participation in firm committees, departmental matters, and events

Requirements

· MBA in Finance/Chartered Accountant/Enrolled Agent/CPA
· 2+ years of recent public accounting experience
· U.S. Tax experience is preferred
· Ability to read and interpret a complete set of financial statements
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Effective analytical and problem-solving ability
· Strong time and work management skills

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is expected to work in our office. Flexibility is granted to employees to work remotely on an as-needed basis.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Non-Busy Season / 40 hours per week.
Busy Season (February-April, August-October) / Extended hours required, will scale up not to exceed 65 hours per week (to be outlined in the employment agreement).
Travel

May be required to travel up to four to eight weeks to U.S. offices.
