Job description
A career in our Financial Services Tax practice, within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business
You ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners
You ll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals
Our team helps our Financial Services clients navigate the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions
You ll help our clients with their tax structuring while helping to address the challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both locally and globally
Assisting in advisory projects including technical research, drafting memo,
presentations and webinars etc.
Review of transaction documents such as share subscription agreements,
shareholders agreement, constitution document of entities etc. Assistance in
fund structuring, PE review etc
Analysing and interpreting provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961 Foreign
Exchange Management Act, 1999, SEBI regulations, Companies Act, 2013 and
DTAA
Preparing and reviewing tax computations – withholding tax computation,
advance tax, tax returns etc.
Assisting in tax assessment including preparing the submissions to be made
before the tax authorities and assisting in representations. Accompanying
seniors for the tax hearings as and when needed
Co-ordinating with the tax authorities and visiting the tax office of regular
follow-ups, rectification, refund follow-up etc.
Tracking changes in regulations on a continuous basis, preparing update
mails, news alerts etc.
Maintaining strong control on facts and figures for all assignments working
upon
Regular interaction with client contacts
Developing strong working relationships with colleagues across service lines
(tax, assurance, etc.) and across different PwC locations
Ensuring continuous compliance with all the risk and quality management
standards of PwC
Assisting seniors in sign offs, raising the invoices, arranging debrief meetings
and following up with clients for payments, etc.

Profile
Requirements

Working in this discipline will see a Senior Associate working on engagements and
teams (sizes of which will vary depending on client/project).
To qualify for the same the Senior Associate will need:
To be a Qualified Chartered Accountant

Good knowledge of direct tax
Knowledge of the current developments and impact of the same FS space
Basic knowledge FEMA/Company law preferred
Efficiency in MS office
Other prerequisite skills include:
– Ability and inclination to read and interpret the law
– Ability to discuss basic technical issues, ask appropriate questions and
gather relevant information from the client
– Ownership and responsibility of tasks delegated
– Demonstrating innovative and critical thinking in handling projects
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong analytical and numerical skills
– Well-rounded commercial and economic awareness and understanding of
the financial markets
– Good interpersonal and networking skills
– Passion for client servicing
– Number crunching ability
