A Category I Merchant Banker is hiring for its ECM syndication desk, with a core focus on syndication, coverage and placements.
Key responsibilities:
– Identify and target institutional investors, both domestic and international, alongside the sales and investment banking teams.
– Maintain databases of investor preferences, allocations and feedback.
– Participate in investor picks meetings and select investors with the sales team.
– Coordinate meetings and slots between issuer, investors and other lead managers.
– Build investor relationships through interaction and deal marketing.
– Track market sentiment, deal flow, recent ECM transactions and investor behaviour.
– Gauge investor appetite pre-deal and manage demand during the offering.
– Monitor demand, pricing and feedback through execution; provide competitive analysis on pricing, structure and timing.
– Manage book-building and allocation.
– Coordinate with execution, legal, compliance, sales and research teams.
– Prepare deal memos, allocation reports and post-deal analysis.
– Ensure smooth execution of IPOs, FPOs, QIPs and block trades and feed investor preferences back to origination.
Candidate profile:
– 7-9 years in investment banking, specifically ECM, covering IPO, QIP, buyback, FPO, rights issue, open offer, FCCB and GDR / ADR.
– Proven syndication track record with strong relationships across large corporates and financial services markets.
