The position in discussion is with the Tax team at KPMG Global Services (KGS), which is KPMGā€™s global delivery center and is an integral part of the firmā€™s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability, globally.

KGSā€™ Tax team of over 1600+ professionals based in Bangalore and Kochi on a journey of growth, transformation and new capability building to be future ready.

KGS Tax team has been providing solutions to KPMG member firms globally in Corporate Tax, Partnership Tax, Global Mobility, Compensation and Assignment Services, Indirect Tax, Tax R&D, Transfer Pricing, M&A Tax and many more.

We are recruiting for Associate 1 at Business Tax services team specifically for our Mutual Fund tax Practice/ Regulated Investment Companies (RIC) tax. Working as a Senior Associate in this team, your responsibilities will include:

Preparation and Quality review of Regulated Investment Company (RIC) fiscal and excise tax provision workpapers, review financial statement disclosures, preparation, and review of monthly or quarterly capital and income estimates, prepare and review quarterly and annual IRC asset compliance and gross income testing.
Prepare workpapers to support shareholder reporting.
Preparation and Quality review of various Mutual Funds book to tax adjustments/reclasses like Wash sales, PFIC, Straddle, Sec 1256/988, REITs/Non-REITs, Dividend (QDI, DRD) etc.
Preparation and Quality review of 1120-RIC tax returns and their supporting workpapers and associated schedules, excise tax returns (8613), extensions (7004) and required state filings.
Participate in technical and other trainings to develop skills to enhance the employee and client experience.
Proficient on Go System and other Tax Compliance tools.
Assisting team members to prepare electronic filing packages.
Supervise and train staff and New Joiners on tax projects as buddy.
Job Requirements

Mandatory Skills

Minimum post graduate from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance Experience

Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and understanding of Federal taxes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel)
Preferred Skills

Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations without compromising on quality and ethical standards and values
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player: self-driven and ability to work independently as well as able to motivate team members
