Harsco GSC – Deputy Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis

ROLE SUMMARY:

Being one of the key positions within Finance function, this role is responsible for the India Region Financial Planning and Analysis, deep dive on factors impacting forecasting & closely working with operations on improvising results, supporting Audits and statutory reporting/compliance, Handling Income Tax matters and key support on finalization of monthly and yearly financials. Closely working with key members in Finance and Operations department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning and Analysis (Primary – 70%):

– Execution of financial cycles such as yearly plan, forecasts, long range plan, and critical guiding measurements that will enable India business to achieve its business objectives, monitoring financial and business performance throughout the year.

– Reporting of business performance vs. plan and forecast, working on financial metrics and updates the management team on key initiatives.

– Close Coordination with sites for reporting and forecasting, analyzing and challenging the workings by site accountants and work as a guiding force for them.

– Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly update and reporting to Division office.

– Creation of standard and ad-hoc data analysis to enable management to interpret key data and implement action plans to improve the quality and accuracy of the overall forecasting process.

– Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures.

– Preparing presentations with detail comments / analysis and present to Country Management.

Statutory Audits, Tax and Accounting(Secondary – 30%):

– Direct Taxes compliances including Monthly TDS check, Quarterly TDS return filing, Tax provisions on monthly basis for current as well as deferred tax based on Accounting Standards, Advance tax calculation & payments, Annual Tax Return Filing, Filing of Transfer pricing reports.

– Handle tax assessment & notices. Coordinate filing appeals before CIT/DRP/ITAT, Filing rectifications before the department.

– Supporting Finance team members of sites to ensure financials are effectively managed. It includes supporting and supervision for month books closure and P&L review of sites.

– Support Statutory and Tax Audit if required, arrange for the data required for the audits, closely working with Site team and Shared service team for details and closely working with Statutory auditors till finalization of accounts.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

– To perform this job successfully, an individual must have effective relationships and interface regularly with a wide array of internal and external people including, but are not limited to:

– India Management Team Members, India Site management, Environmental Leadership team, Internal, Statutory and Tax Audit, Shared Service Centre, Human Resources and Legal, Employees, Government Representatives and Regulators

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES:

– Professionally qualified Cost Accountant / Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance with post qualification experience of 2 to 5 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing / services related industry.

– Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial information. Highly analytical with a strong financial analysis foundation.

– Ability to analyze complex data and provide summaries, conclusions and make recommendations that are feasible and improve productivity.

– Attention to detail and a good proficiency in Excel, ERP application knowledge (preferably Oracle e-Business) as well as past experience with Hyperion Planning would also be highly desirable.

– Excellent verbal and written English communication and strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with Local management and International Division and Regional Managers are essential.

– Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions, passion to learn and grow and work well within a team.
