Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced investment professional to support the development and management of the firm’s asset allocation framework, conduct in-depth research, and advise clients on portfolio strategies. Beyond research and strategy design, this role has direct ownership of implementation – translating the firm’s investment advice into action across client portfolios, and ensuring those portfolios stay aligned with the firm’s model portfolios over time.

The ideal candidate has a background in investment research, macroeconomic analysis, and asset management, with the ability to work independently in a flat, growth-oriented organisation that values a long-term mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Allocation & Portfolio Implementation

– Assist in developing and refining the firm’s asset allocation framework, aligned with its investment philosophy.

– Implement the firm’s investment advice across client portfolios, ensuring recommendations translate accurately and consistently into executed portfolio actions.

– Compare individual client portfolios against the relevant model portfolio(s), identify deviations, and recommend appropriate rebalancing or portfolio actions.

– Build and maintain model portfolio dashboards, tracking allocation drift, performance, and adherence across client accounts.

– Lead periodic portfolio and performance reporting to clients, ensuring transparency and clarity.

Research & Market Analysis

– Play an important role in identifying and evaluating investable opportunities across global markets.

– Monitor and analyse macroeconomic trends, market movements, and risk factors influencing portfolios.

– Support the production of research reports, notes, and market commentary for internal and client use.

– Produce engaging blogs, newsletters, and podcasts to share market insights and firm research.

Collaboration & Client Engagement

– Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive delivery of investment solutions.

– Assist in research initiatives, client interactions, and presentations.

– Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a culture of rigour and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Experience

– Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA charter holder, or MBA from a reputed university.

– 2 to 4 years of proven experience in investment research, asset management, or wealth advisory.

– Demonstrated ability to analyse markets and build/improvise asset allocation models independently.

– Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling research notes, blogs, and newsletters.

– Experience evaluating investment opportunities, conducting portfolio reviews, and recommending portfolio actions.

– Well-versed in macroeconomic trends, market cycles, risk management, and valuation methodologies.

– Prior experience advising high-net-worth clients or institutional portfolios.

– Ability to mentor junior analysts and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

– Leadership qualities to mentor and guide junior team members.

– Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of products across asset classes.

– Ability to analyse macroeconomic indicators, market data, and industry reports.

– Proficiency in writing research notes, financial analysis, and industry blogs/newsletters.

– Experience with portfolio management and research tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Seeking Alpha.

– Self-driven, proactive, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities in a flat organisational culture.

– Adaptable, growth-oriented, with a long-term investment outlook.

Performance Metrics

– Research impact and influence on investment decisions.

– Results-oriented performance.

– Quality and timeliness of research reports, blogs, and newsletters.

– Effectiveness in portfolio optimisation and risk management strategies.

– Accuracy and timeliness of portfolio implementation against model portfolios, and quality of model portfolio dashboard maintenance.
