As an Internal Audit Assistant Manager, you play a vital role in the risk advisory and internal audit function within an organization
You assist the Internal Audit Manager in overseeing and conducting audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identify areas of risk, and provide recommendations for improvement
Here are some key responsibilities and areas of expertise for an Internal Audit Assistant Manager:
Audit Planning and Execution: You assist in developing audit plans and programs, considering key risks, control objectives, and regulatory requirements
You contribute to the execution of audits by conducting fieldwork, collecting and analyzing data, and assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and processes
Risk Assessment: You assist in identifying and assessing risks within the organization’s operations, processes, and systems
This involves analyzing and documenting risk factors, evaluating control frameworks, and recommending risk mitigation strategies
Compliance and Governance: You ensure that the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
You assess the effectiveness of governance structures, policies, and procedures and provide recommendations for enhancing compliance and risk management practices
Internal Control Evaluation: You evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls across various business areas
This includes assessing control frameworks, testing control activities, and identifying control deficiencies or weaknesses
You provide recommendations to strengthen controls and mitigate risks
Audit Reporting: You assist in preparing clear and concise audit reports that communicate audit findings, recommendations, and action plans to management
You collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that audit reports are accurate, objective, and provide value-added insights for decision-making
