Brief Role Description (one line description including travel if any) : Assisting in managing routine direct tax compliances of subcos on direct tax compliances, assessments, litigation & audits
Job Roles & Responsibilities Level :
– Tax Compliance :To support in managing various Direct Tax Compliances of three key entities of Domestic Subsidiaries of Tata Motors so as ensure timely compliance.
– Support in operational issues of Tax Audit, including collating relevant information, reviewing the
information received from various teams and raising queries, assisting in preparation of Tax Audit Report
schedules, coordinating with auditors and addressing any queries/information requests.
– Support in preparing & filing Income Tax returns of Domestic subsidiaries
– Assist in implementation of automation tools
– Advisory Assist in technical evaluation & providing advisory to internal stakeholders on direct tax
compliance (including Corporate Finance, Payroll, P2P, R2R and other teams). Regularly assisting business
teams in identifying correct TDS rate on transaction by providing technical advisories
– Refunds & rectifications Review Tax computations & records for past years, identify cases for pending
rectification / refunds and pursue for closure to generate cash inflow for Group/address pending
outstanding balances in Tax GLs
– Qtrly Tax Closing – Finalisation of Provision for Current Tax, Deferred Tax, Effective Tax rate (ETR)
computation for domestic subsidiaries and Advance Tax Calculations and other quarter closing related
activities
– Assessments / Appeals Assist in in analysing information requests, collating relevant information
including downloading reports from SAP, coordinating with relevant internal stakeholders and drafting
submissions/responses
– Evaluating the withholding tax applicability for all foreign remittances and Providing Tax clearances in
respect of above-mentioned remittance of funds. Also preparing monthly TDS liability computation, draft
challans, ensuring TDS payment before prescribed time limit and reviewing quarterly TDS returns.
– Driving issuance of Form 15CA / 15CB as applicable. Analysing provisions of Indias DTAA with various
countries to identify correct tax rate and evaluate beneficial treaty provisions wherever applicable
– Assisting other functions/business areas with their direct tax queries including evaluating DT
implications in business transaction
– Assisting in other tax compliances such as filing SFT forms, compliance reports, Form 61 etc.
– Preparing MIS of various activities being undertaken within direct tax function and submit to management in specified formats
Essential & Desirable Education/Qualifications/ Work experience/technical skills i.e. what are the ‘must
haves’ for this role :
1. Functional Knowledge of Skills (Must Have) :
a. Good skills set on Direct Taxation Laws (incl. hands on experience of supporting on assessments & litigation)
b. Strong interpersonal & Communication Skills
c. Good leadership skills

– Educational Qualification : Chartered Accountant
– Technical Skill required :
a. Working knowledge of SAP (preferable)
b. Good Knowledge of accountancy
c. MS Office
– Language Proficiency : English, Hindi
– Experience Required : 3-4 years post qualification experience in the area of the Direct Taxation
