CBIT – Financial Accountant

Position Overview

This Financial Accountant coordinates and maintains the Financial record keeping of various entities in the global Newland Chase / CIBT ownership structure, and is responsible for all aspects of accounting to ensure that all financial requirements of the Company are being met. This person will work with Internal stakeholders – HR, IT, Operations Team to maintain the books and records, chart of accounts of the corporate entities.

To be fully successful in this position, this person will have good communication skills, good command over English, advanced Excel skills, a strong grasp of intermediate and advanced accounting principles, a good understanding of a consolidation and reporting application, and excellent detail orientation.

Duties And Responsibilities

General Accounting (Records to Report) – Fixed Assets, Depreciation, Intercompany Accounting & Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliation, Revenue Accounting, GST Reconciliation, P&L and Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Month End Journals, Month End Reporting
Will be jointly / independently responsible for end to end month/quarter/year end close activities
Will be jointly/ independently responsible for submission of applicable Tax, Legal & Statutory submissions as per clients’ local laws
Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data
Assisting team with year-end audit requirements
Ensuring proper documentation of process SOPs are maintained & updated
Special projects and other duties, as required

Education And Qualifications

1-3 years in professional accounting position in public or corporate accounting
Expert knowledge of GST & withholding taxes
Experience in dealing with intercompany transactions and multiple currencies
Strong Excel skills
Proficiency/fluency of English language, spoken and written
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Previous experience with dealing with international internal / external stakeholders would be preferable
Needs to be flexible with working hours when required by the company and assigned by the Finance Manager
